The aesthetics of sculpture are very important to me. I like to be concise and economical in my use of line and form, a sort of minimalist sculptural calligraphy. I am interested in good design, things that work well. I pare down the forms so there is nothing fussy or unnecessary, maintaining a strong link with the integrity of the initial inspiration.
I enjoy working with different materials; I particularly like materials that have a history such as driftwood that used to be part of an old boat, or lignum vitae, which was once the mechanical workings of an old sugar mill. Our history is embedded in the fabric of the materials, the way they have worn with use or weathered with the seasons.

Sculpture is my passion. Inspiration can come from many different sources. For example, I am fascinated by birds flying in formation and the movement of fish. The birds of the Antiguan coastline and lagoons are a continuing inspiration for me in both painting and sculpture. I try to capture the character of different birds such as the elegant, vigilant herons, the prehistoric pelicans and the sociable terns.
The horse is also a recurring theme, I am interested in the way the horse has been portrayed throughout history and in different cultures, I see my horse sculptures not as individuals but as iconic figures.
